Our num, nums are going robotic
Silicon Valley Zume Pizza and Chowbotics are coming to feed you
Emmmm. Robot made pizza and robot made salads. Sounds good, doesn't it? Well, as long as the ingredients are tasty, it should be all good, right?

Those already cooked pizzas are loaded into a delivery truck that ventures out at the appropriate time and place to begin doling out dinner to customers. Inside the truck, the pizza is kept warm and crisp. It means quicker delivery for the customer - four minutes and fresher food.

To go with the Zume pizza, diners can grab a salad on the way home out of a vending machine from Chowbotics, another Bay Area start-up that may change the food industry as well. The genius of the machines is that they keep the veggies cold and away from the human contact of salad bars. Source
It can then mix and make customized salads with a touch of a button. Concern about job loss is an issue that has cropped up surrounding companies like these two. But both say jobs will still be available with a need for delivery drivers and machine loaders.

It is not known how many a Zume store employs but the founders say that with all the lower costs, pay for its employees will be better than the industry average and even health benefits could be offered.
